Wow. That’s all I can say after this incredible journey to these two amazing places. Game changing for me in terms of future travel. Just being amongst all that beauty was so calming and rejuventating. Trees, lakes, animals and mountains: nature’s medicine. Both were beyond my expectations in every way, and perhaps are food for thought for my ‘retirement years’! Good weather was on my side as well. There’s nothing more rejuvenating than taking a stroll through nature. These two destinations just happen to be within large metropolises; Crother’s Woods and the Brickworks in Toronto and the Arboretum in Guelph. Bringing my furry friends along with me made the journeys much more fun.
Lake Superior has been #1 on my bucket list for a few years now. Having now gone up and experienced it, it’s renewed my love of northern Ontario and the expanse of this great province. We had crappy weather for the most part, but with that comes amazing skies, clouds, lush greens and an occasional treat – the sun! A true experience, and a fun one to boot. A friend said to me recently ‘If you’re going to camp, make sure you’re with someone fun’. Done and done.
